The commander of the German ground forces, Lieutenant General Alphonse Meis, has reported to the Bundeswehr authorities that Germany is unable to fully fulfill its obligations in NATO. The combat readiness of the division promised to the alliance by 2025 will only be limited due to continued underfunding and military assistance to Ukraine. Germany has promised to transfer a fully equipped division to NATO by 2025, but it does not have enough military equipment at all. The lack of resources, support for Ukraine, and the implementation of NATO plans generally lead to serious problems in the training of other ground forces units.
